Can You Wear a Hawaiian Shirt to a Resort Wedding?
“Resort” is not a universal dress code. The hosts’ wording outranks an internet outfit formula.
Read the event first
Check formality, ceremony setting, time, weather and requested colors. Ask when language is ambiguous. A collared shirt does not automatically satisfy cocktail or formal attire.
Reduce novelty cues
For permissioned casual events, choose controlled contrast, clean fit and simple trousers. Avoid joke prints or costume styling. The goal is to participate in the occasion rather than make the shirt the event.
