How to Wash a Hawaiian Shirt Without Fading the Facts

There is no safe universal wash cycle for every printed shirt.

Treat the label as the instruction

Check washing, bleach, drying and ironing warnings before the first clean. Cotton, rayon and linen shirts can all contain dyes, interfacing or trim that change the required method.

Reshape and store dry

When permitted, remove promptly, reshape the collar and placket, and dry by the stated method. Store only when fully dry. Vintage, damaged or unstable-dye garments may need specialist advice.
