Rayon often drapes fluidly, crisp cotton holds a clearer outline, and linen emphasizes texture and creasing. I like linen for hot, beachy days while treating its heavy wrinkling as part of the bargain. Blends combine traits according to their actual percentages, not the first fiber named in a title.

Care instructions account for dyes, interfacing, trim and buttons as well as the main cloth. Never replace the garment’s label with a generic rule from its headline fiber.
